          Noor Akmar binti Jais @ Mat Jaih, Director of the English Language Training Centre at Malaysia’s Ministry of Education, is a seasoned leader in English Language Teaching (ELT). With a Master’s in Sociology in Education and a B.Ed. in TESL from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, she brings over 30 years of experience, spanning roles as a secondary school teacher, principal, and senior Ministry official. Her expertise in strategic planning, policy development, and design thinking informs national ELT initiatives, including teacher training and curriculum alignment with CEFR standards. Akmar’s leadership fosters innovative teaching practices, ensuring educators are equipped to enhance linguistic proficiency and meet Malaysia’s educational goals.

          In 2024, Noor Akmar binti Jais @ Mat Jaih spearheaded a nationwide teacher training programme at the English Language Training Centre, reaching 1,000 secondary school educators in Malaysia.
