Associate Professor Dr. Vahid Nimehchisalem, based at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication at Universiti Putra Malaysia and Adjunct at Taylor’s University, has been a pivotal figure in English Language Teaching (ELT) since 1996. Holding a Ph.D. in TESL from Universiti Putra Malaysia, he specialises in language assessment and English language learning-teaching materials evaluation. As chief editor of the International Journal of Education and Literacy Studies and managing editor of the Journal of Language and Communication, he shapes global ELT scholarship. His research on assessment literacy and materials design supports educators in creating effective, equitable testing and teaching frameworks, enhancing student outcomes across Malaysia and beyond.

Impact Story:

In 2023, Dr. Vahid Nimehchisalem’s assessment literacy workshops, supported by Universiti Putra Malaysia, trained 200 Malaysian teachers. Over six months, the programme improved test design quality by 20%, per school feedback, enabling fairer student evaluations.
